Alan LeRoy Shoemaker, age 73, of Neillsville died Sunday, November 6, 2005, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.
Alan, the son of Frank and Florence (Zank) Shoemaker was born August 29, 1932 in Thorp. After graduating from Alma Center High School in 1951, Alan joined the United States Army and spent most of his enlistment stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in December 1954.
Alan married Margaret Bostwick April 18, 1964, in Alma Center. Alan worked as a tool and die maker in Rockford, IL, Winona, MN, Black River Falls and Neillsville, Wis.
Surviving Alan is his wife, Margaret; one daughter, Christy Marie (Owen) Wade of Endeavor; three grandchildren, Josh, Becky and Matt; three brothers, Jim (Lois) Shoemaker of Alma Center, Arthur (Marilyn) Shoemaker of Evansville, and Howard (Bonnie) Shoemaker of Black river Falls; one sister, Clio Huebner of Alma Center; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents Frank and Florence; seven brothers, Guy, Joe, Syd, Clyde, Lynn, Delbert and Dick; one sister, Dorothea Geske.
Memorial services for Alan will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2005, at Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home in Hixton. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Alma Center. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Saturday.
