Engeldinger, Helen (4 APR 1847 - 13 MAR 1904)

Died, at her home in the town of Colby, Clark Co., Wis., on Sunday morning, March 13th, 1904, Helen, wife of Peter Engeldinger, in the 47th year of her age.

Helen Izert was born in the town of Meeme, Manitowoc Co., Wis., April 4th, 1857; she was united in marriage with Peter Engeldinger June 29th, 1875. They made their home in Kewaunee Co. for two years, removing to Colby in 1877, where they have resided for the past 26 years. To them were born twelve children, five of whom are living, four daughters and one son who, with her husband, her father, Conrad Izert of Colby, three sisters, Mrs. Wm. Happle and Mrs. John Orth of Colby, and Mrs. Peter Phillips of Kaukauna, and one brother out west, and hosts of friends, to mourn the loss of a true, faithful and kindhearted woman.

The funeral was held from St. Kilian’s Church Wednesday forenoon, Rev. Wm. Reding officiating, and the large attendance attested the high esteem in which Mrs. Engeldinger was held by her many friends in the community. The burial took place at the Catholic Cemetery.

The following relatives from out of town were here to attend the funeral: Joseph Stein, Adam Stein and Herman Meyer of Meeme, John Koenig of St. Nazianz, Joseph Bushman and Nic Brost of Schoolhill, Mr. and Mrs. John Kaiser, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kaiser, and Lawrence Kaiser of Stratford, Mrs. Aug.
