Henk, Elizabeth (16 JUN 1832 - 14 JUL 1904)

On Thursday forenoon, July 14th, 1904, at 9:30 o’clock, Mrs. Elizabeth Henk breathed her last at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Stroota in the town of Holeton, Marathon Co., Wis., aged 72 years and 28 days.

Elizabeth Merget was born at Kleinkrotzburg, on the Main, Grashertzthum Hessen, Germany, June 16th, 1832; she was married at Zellhausen, Feb. 20th, 1855, to Adam Henk, who died June 26th, 1878. With her children she came to America, landing in New York March 28th, 1881, and located in the town of Lima, Sheboygan Co., Wis. In April 1885, she came to the town of Holeton to live with her daughter.

She leaves to mourn her a brother, Adam Merget, living at Lima, Sheboygan Co., and two children, Kasper Henk and Mrs. Albert Stroota, both of the town of Holeton.

The funeral was held from St. Kilian’s Church in this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), Saturday, July 16th, Rev. Father Reding officiating. The interment took place in the Catholic Cemetery.
