The social event of the season took place at the home of Mrs. Mary Schraufnagel Monday, May 25th, 1903, when Joseph Schraufnagel was united in marriage to Miss Regina Ruby of March Rapids, Wis. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Miller at St. Kilian’s Church of Colby, Clark Co., Wis. At precisely 9:30 o’clock the bridal procession entered the church and took their positions at the altar, where after an impressive and solemn service they were pronounced man and wife. The bride wore a beautiful dress of while mousseline de Soie trimmed with with Chiffon Appliqué and Bead Garniture.

The groom wore the customary suit of black. The attendants were Misses Mary Ruby, Anna Schraufnagel and Lena Olinger, and Messrs. Michael Schraufnagel, Fred Ruby and Emil Umhoefer. The bridesmaids wore pretty white dresses and carried bouquets of pink and white carnations. After the ceremony the wedding party drove to the home of the groom, where a sumptuous wedding dinner was served.

The guests expected to trip the "light fantastic" in the barn, which was tastefully decorated for the occasion, with balsam, hemlock and bunting, but the orchestra which was engaged did not put in an appearance, so the Holeton orchestra was sent for and furnished delightful (?) music. The disappointment of the afternoon vanished as the dancing progressed. A lunch was served at midnight, after which continued until the break of dawn. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schraufnagel were the recipients of many bountiful and useful presents. Their many friends join in wishing them a happy and prosperous future.
