Weaver, Len E. (? - APR 1908)

Len E. Weaver, a well known resident of this city, died last evening at six o’clock at St. Joseph’s Hospital, after an illness of two weeks, suffering with appendicitis and a complication of diseases. Mr. Weaver has not been well for several months past, and a short time ago his condition became so critical that he was removed from his home to the hospital, where an operation was performed in the hope of saving his life, but even this failed and his strength gradually ebbed away, death ending the unequal struggle last evening at six o’clock. He leaves behind him to mourn his loss his wife, a girl aged 10 and a boy aged 8, and one sister, Mrs. Clem Pollmar, residing in this city, and also a host of friends, whose heartfelt sympathy goes out to the bereaved ones in their deep affliction. Mr. Weaver ahs been a resident of this city, following the lather’s profession at which he was an expert. At the time of his death he was 36 years of age.

He was a member of the following societies and fraternal organizations: Eagles, Modern Woodmen of America, Red Men, National Fraternal League and the Lather’s Union.

The Eagles will have charge of the funeral, which will be held Thursday afternoon at two o’clock. The body will be taken to the Eagles’ Hall at nine o’clock Thursday forenoon and will lie in state until the time of the funeral. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery. (Ashland News)

Mr. Weaver was a son-in-law of Alderman Louis Peterson, and was well known in this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.). Mr. Peterson went to Ashland to attend the funeral and returned Saturday night.
