Hale, Lucas (29 June 1846 - 1935)

Lucas Hale, 89, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dankemyer, Lynn, Saturday night. His death resulting of old age. The last two months he was confined to his bed, turning blind about that time. He has born in Oberbrian, Germany, June 29, 1846, and came to America in 1890. Lived in Monroe, Grant County, where he made Swiss cheese for several years. He cames Lynn in 1900 and bought a 40 acres wild land, which he cleared up and where he lived until his marriage to Mrs. Kate Sternitzsky in 1904. She preceded him in death 10 years ago. The last year he made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dankemyer who cared for him the past couple years. Funeral services will be held at their home (Tuesday) afternoon at two o’clock, with Rev. Arthur Laesch officiating. Burial at the Lynn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Fred Handky, Herman Hasz, Louis Wiesner, Frank Hoeft, Carl Yankee and Oscar Johnson.
