Ghoca, George W. (1845? - 7 JUN 1910)

George W. Ghoca, who was stricken with paralysis on Saturday, may 28th, 1910, as stated in this paper last week, died at his home in Waupaca, Tuesday afternoon, June 7th, at 12:42, aged about 65 years.

George Ghoca settled in Colby, Clark Co., Wis. in 1873, and engaged in the store business; in 1874 he had the hotel, known as the Commercial, erected and was proprietor of the same for a number of years. He was elected sheriff of Marathon Co. in 1878, and at the close of his term of office returned to Colby. Later he moved to Stevens Point, where he was engaged in the hotel business for awhile and also in the hardware business. He removed from Stevens Point to Waupaca, and was for a few years proprietor of the "Hotel Florence."

Besides his widow, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. W. F. Collins of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Earle Whipple of Minneapolis, and Misses Ora and Florence of Waupaca, all of whom were with him at the time of his death, besides an adopted, son, Allan Ghoca, of Stevens Point.

Here in his early home we all mourn the death of a true and loyal friend and deeply sympathize with the widow and children in their loss.

The funeral takes place at Waupaca this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, and will be in charge of the Masons, of which order he has long been a member.
