Stiemke, Bertha (29 APR 1903 - 21 OCT 1993)

GLOBE, Clark Co., Wis. - Bertha Stiemke, 90, Neillsville, died Thursday at Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville, Wis.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday ,at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Globe, with the Rev. Paul Reede officiating. The organist will be Karen Hoppa. Burial will be in the church cemetery, and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, from 6:30-9 p.m. Sunday and then at the church one hour prior to service time Monday.

The former Bertha Lueck was born April 29, 1903, in the town of Weston, Clark Co., to Albert and Ottillie (Schoenherr) Lueck. She received her education at Fairview School, town of Weston. After her education, she did housework for various families in the Globe area. She was married to Henry Stiemke June 17, 1928, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Globe.

After her marriage, she and her husband lived in Milwaukee for three years. They then moved back to the home farm in the town of Weston. In 1935, they moved to an area five miles west of Neillsville, and she lived there until the time of her death.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe.

Survivors include two sons, Theodore "Ted" and Arthur, both of Neillsville; four daughters, Mrs. Orin (Jeanette) Janke of Humbird, Mrs. Felix (Roselyn) Kotcon of Neillsville, Irene Grassman of Granton and Mrs. John (Verna) Zimmerman of Janesville; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, six brothers and two sisters.
