Leibole, Henry M. (19 OCT 1851 - 2 NOV 1935)

Henry Michael Leibole, died of infirmities of old age on Nov. 2, 1935, at the age of 84, at Thorp, Clark Co., Wis., where he has lived as a respected citizen for the past 42 years.

He was born on Oct. 19, 1851, near Akron, Ohio. He left home at the age of 18, after which he got a woods job at which he found employment for two years. He came to Eau Claire in 1876, lived in Chelsea for two years and then moved in 1877 to Meridean. He moved to Sterling in 1883, where he was married to Margaret Duffy on Nov. 1. He resided in Sterling until 1893 and then moved to Thorp where he has resided since.

Deceased leaves to mourn, his wife Margaret and his two sons, Frank of Bismarck, N.D., and William of Wenatchee, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. James De Bock (Ollie) of Jordan, Mont. And Mrs. Roy Gibbs (Nora) of Miles City, Mont.

The funeral was held at St. Bernard’s Church on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 9 a.m., Rev. A.M. Muckerheide officiating, burial taking place at the Parish cemetery. The pallbearers were: Louis Walsdorf, Arthur Rasmussen, John Hickman, Richard Brunner, Edward Asselin and Frank Broeren.

Mr. Leibole was a familiar and beloved figure around Thorp and will be sorely missed by his many friends.

Those from out of town who attend the funeral were: Miss Ellen Duhig, John Duhig and Mrs. M. Austin of Elroy, Wis., Frank Leibole of Bismarck, N.D., William Leibole of Wenatchee, Wash., Mrs. Roy Gibbs of Miles City, Mont., Mrs. J. O’Shaughnessy of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. F. Duffy and Edmund Duffy of Gilman, Wis.
