Eder, Michael (9 OCT 1851 - 27 DEC 1910)

Mike Eder, a pioneer resident, who died at his home in this city Tuesday evening, Dec. 27th, 1910, from a stroke of apoplexy, was born near Milwaukee, Oct. 9th, 1851. He was married to Elizabeth Meyer, Nov. 9th, 1876. In 1878 he moved to Colby, Clark Co., Wis. and settled on a farm 8 ½ miles west of the city, where he resided until about eight years ago, when he moved to this city. While living on his farm he was chairman of the town of Green Grove two years, and held other offices of trust; at the time of his death he held the office of supervisor in the West Ward and was a good officer. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, one son and two daughters, M.J. and Celia (Mrs. G.W. Firnstahl) of Stanley, N.D., and Emma (Mrs. Frank Heinzen) of Coalinga, Cal. Also two brothers, George of this city, and Joseph of Hilbert, and three sisters, Mrs. Frances Smith of St. Cloud, Minn., Mrs. Joseph Wolf of Hilbert, and Mrs. Martin Kohler of Fredonia.

The funeral was held from St. Mary’s Church Friday morning, and largely attended by relatives and sympathizing neighbors and friends.
