Halbrader, August (21 Jan. 1863 - 2 Jan. 1936)

August Halbrader, 72, for 35 years a resident of the town of Seif, died Thursday morning, Jan. 2, at the Neillsville Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past week.

Born in Germany on Jan. 21, 1863. Mr. Halbrader came to this country in his early youth and was married at Watertown, Wis., on Oct. 9, 1883. In the 1900 the family moved to Clark County, where they took up a homestead in the town of Seif, the present farm home.

He leaves to survive him, his widow, three daughters, Mrs. William (Cora) Humboldt, Williard; Mrs. Clarence (Anna) Marklein, Sullivan; Mrs. Clarence (Augusta) Peterson, Cedarburg; one son, George Halbrader, Seif; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from the farm home, with the Rev. E. H. Vornholt, Neillsville, officiating, and with the burial in the town of Seif Cemetery.

A very large attendance at the funeral indicated the high esteem in which Mr. Halbrader was held in the Community.

I am writing in regards to the family name of Halbrader. My fathers name was John August Halbrader. I was wondering if you could give me as much info about the Halbrader name. My father John had a brother Vic and a brother Lawrence. Any info would be appreciated Thanks mary Ann Halberdier.
