Stange, Paul (10 Sept. 1861 - 2 Feb. 1936)

Mr. Paul Stange was born in Schackstedt, near Sandersleben, Germany on Sept. 10, 1861 and passed away in his home in Diller, Nebraska, Sunday, Feb. 2, having reached the age of 74 years, 4 months and 23 days.

At the age of 14 he accompanied his parents to this country. They established their home at Neillsville, Wisconsin. At the age of 20, Mr. Stange went to Abilene, Kansas, and spent several years where he engaged in farming.

In 1890 he took a trip west to Salem, Ore.; to see the country and visit his brother, Fred. A year later he returned to Petersburg, Nebraska, and bought a farm.

On June 9, 1897, he was united in marriage to Jennie Amelia Condit of Neillsville, Wis. In 1903 he bought a farm south of Diller on which he and his life’s companion lived until 1926 when they sold their farm and moved to Diller. Mrs. Stange preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 1931.

At an early age Mr. Stange put his trust in the Lord and joined the church. At the time of his death he held his membership in the Congregational Church at Diller.

A sister, Mrs. Mary Roessler of Neillsville, and two brothers, Ferdinand, of Tenino, Washington, Carl, of Fountana, California; survive him. In addition to these there are other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held from the Congregational church Thursday afternoon, Rev. H. H. Proett of the Methodist church officiating. Interment was made beside his wife in Prairie Home Cemetery, Waggoner Brothers having charge.
