Koschak, Mary A. (18 DEC 1906 - 4 MAR 2006)

Mary Koschak, 99, a longtime resident of Waukegan, Ill., passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Sunrise Assisted Living Center, Gurnee, Ill. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, March 9, at 10 a.m., at the Church of St. Patrick, Wadsworth, Ill. Interment followed in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, Ill.

Mary A. Janezich was born on Dec. 18, 1906, in Pueblo, Colo., to Anton and Mary Janezich and spent her early years in Willard. On Oct. 31, 1926, she married Louis J. Koschak at Mother of God Church, Waukegan, and was married to him for 74 years until his death on June 11, 2001. She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church, and SNPJ Lodge # 584. She loved to knit and crochet, including patchwork quilts. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and spending time at her cabinnin Willard.

Survivors include three sons, Lawrence Koschak, Big Pine Key, Fla., David (Frances), Wadsworth and Louis (Nancy) Koschak, Gurnee; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers; and two sisters.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Louis; and five sisters.

Donations may be made in her name either to St. Patrick Church or School.

Salata-Gurnee Funeral Home, Gurnee, assisted the family with arrangements.
