Koeppen, Bertha (26 APR 1911)

August Kobs, a prosperous young farmer of the town of Colby, Clark Co., Wis., and Miss Bertha Koeppen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Koeppen of the same town, were united in marriage, by Rev. Behrend of the Green Grove Lutheran Church, at the bride’s home, Wednesday afternoon, April 26th, 1911, in the presence of relatives and a large gathering of invited guests. After the services a wedding dinner was served. The balance of the afternoon and most of the night, was taken up with festivities usual at such gatherings. The bride and groom are both popular young people of the town and their many friends wish them a bright and happy future.

An old fashioned charivari, in which many of the older ones participated, was one of the night features.
