A group of schoolmates attended the birthday party for Randy Apfelbeck, who was none years old last Friday, May 21. Games were played and refreshments were served with the special birthday cake. Randy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Apfelbeck, Colby.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gumz, Abbotsford, were Thursday evening visitors at the James Apfelbeck home. The Gumz family came to help nine year old Randy celebrate his birthday.

Miss Jennifer Henshall of Auckland, New Zealand spent a few days the past week as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bane and Mrs. C.A. Nelsen. Miss Henshall arrived in Los Angeles the latter part of April and is visiting a number of cities while making a trip across the United States. From the east coast she will sail to England, where she will spend some time before returning to her home in New Zealand.

Charles Hrdlicka was able to return home from St. Joseph's Hospital last week after having been injured in an auto accident on Highway 13 north of Colby on May 10.

Mrs. Keith Stern and Mrs. Art Schultz attended the spring meeting for Lutheran Sunday School superintendents in Circuit 14, Missouri Synod, which was held at Athens on Tuesday, May 18. The purpose of the meeting was to plan the format of the fall rally to be held at Athens in the fall. Mrs. Stern represented St. Juke's and Mrs. Schultz is from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Grove.
