Bruner, Priscilla "Penny" M. (June 29, 1955 - March 20, 2006)

Priscilla "Penny" Bruner, age 50, died Monday March 20, 2006 at her home in Neillsville, Wis.

"Penny" was born on June 29, 1955 in Chicago, IL, daughter of Cecil and Elizabeth (Montgomery) Johnson. She was raised in Anandale, VA. She married John Mark Bruner on January 20, 1973 in Fairfax, VA. Mark and Penny moved to Neillsville in 1976. She worked alongside her husband at Marty’s supermarket and also managed the garden center every spring for over 20 years. Her favorite hobbies included gardening, arts and crafts, traveling and she was incredibly devoted to her family as a wife, mother and loving grandmother.

Her family would like to express their deepest thanks and gratitude to the community, their family and friends for all their support and help through this difficult time with her battle against cancer.

Penny is survived by her husband, Mark; daughter, Christina (Chad) Ableidinger of Eau Claire; a son, Tracy Bruner of Eagan, MN; three grandchildren, Ashly, Nickolas and Emily Ableidinger; six brothers, Bruce (Carolyn) Johnson of Owen, Bill (Evon) Johnson of Virginia, Bud (Marcia) Johnson of Milwaukee, Paul (Julie) Johnson of Florida, Guy (Barb) Johnson of Abbotsford; two sisters, Ginny (Dave) Grove of Florida and Pat Friedenfels of Abbotsford, Wis.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Chris Johnson.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 24, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville, Wis. The Very Reverend Woodrow H Pace will officiate. Providing music will be Ronald Resong, organist and St. Mary’s Choir. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 23, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Neillsville, Wis.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Penny’s family with arrangements.
