Hartl, Lorenz (1838? - FEB 1913)

(Marshfield Times)

Lorenz Hartl, head of one of Marshfield’s prominent families, one of the city’s sterling businessmen of the early days, died last Saturday morning at his home in the Hartl block, after an intermittent illness of several years, aged 74 years. Mr. Hartl has suffered from rheumatism and complications for a long time, and despite the best of medical aid he gradually succumbed to the inroads of disease. He was recently taken to the Waukesha baths but failed to secure relief and failed quite rapidly. The funeral was held Monday morning at 9 o’clock from St. John’s Catholic Church by Rev. Fr. Volz.
