Kluck, Marion Lenore (10 June 1918 - 2 Nov. 1936)

Marion Lenore Kluck, daughter of Chas. and Amelia Kluck, was born at Toledo, Ohio, June 10, 1918, and died at the home near Chili, Wisconsin, November 2, 1936 at the age of 18 years, 4 months and 23 days. Her death came as the result of accidental gas poisoning.

Marion came to Clark County, Wisconsin with her parents when she was just a small child. She grew to young womanhood in the vicinity of Christie, living helpfully and cheerfully among her companions.

She was married on November 29, 1934 at Neillsville to Byrl Eugene Rowe, the son of Jesse and Elsie Rowe. Her husband is a teacher in the rural schools and after marriage he continued to teach in the Uncle Sam School just north of Neillsville until this fall when he went to teach in the Grant School near Chili. It was there in the home they had so recently established that death came to Mrs. Rowe; its suddenness; like a foul blow in the dark, causing heartache and disappointment to loved ones and the whole community.

Just coming into the full bloom of beautiful womanhood, surcharged with energy and zeal to give her life in love and service to those about her and the community in which she lived, it seems such a disaster that sudden death should overtake her as she went about the regular duties of her little home. It is a comfort to know that several months ago she consecrated her life Christ, and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in Neillsville under the pastorate of Paul B. White, whom she regarded most highly. Thus in her life, and now in her death is brought home to all of us the lesson, "Be ye also ready for in an hour that ye think not the Son of Man cometh."

The immediate family of sorrowing ones includes her husband Byrl Rowe, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Kluck, two brothers, Nelson and Albert Kluck at home. One grandmother Mrs. August Kluck of Toledo, Ohio, and several aunts and uncles, a number of cousins and a large, large circle of friends. One sister Mildred at three years of age had preceded her in death.

Memorial services were held from the Schiller Funeral home and the Methodist Church on last Thursday afternoon, November 5, conducted by the Pastor Rev. E. P. Stone. At the church Gertrude Clouse sang several hymns, one of them, "In The Garden" being a favorite of Mrs. Rowe’s, Rev. Stone spoke from the text, "Fear not thou for I am with thee: Be not dismayed for I am thy God". Isaiah 41:10. The flower girls were Dorothy *Amritage, Hilda Wilson, Pauline Medicke and Vera Loberg. The pallbearers were Dale *Armitage, Lester Morse, Norman Haack, Bob Riggs, Elton Weisjohn and Robert Tessmer. The body was laid to rest in the Neillsville Cemetery.
