Clifford W. Montag, 54

Withee - Clifford W. Montag, 54, of Withee, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Neillsville Memorial Hospital following a heart attack suffered while at work.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Hansen Chapel in Marshfield, with the Rev. Virgil E. Taylor, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Marshfield, Officiating. Burial will be made in the town of Lynn cemetery.

Closed casket visitations may be made at the Hansen Chapel from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday and on Friday until time of services.

Mr. Montag was born June 16, 1917, in Chili, and received his education at the Marshfield Senior High School. He lived in the Chili, Nasonville and Granton area until his marriage in Marshfield, March 1, 1955 to Eileen Christensen, who survives. The couple resided in Appleton and Thorp for a time and had spent the past 16 years in Withee. He had been employed at Foremost Dairies for the past 24 years.

He has served in the U. S. Marines during World War II in the South Pacific.

Survivors in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Miss Carla Montage, St. Paul, Minn.; a son, William Montag, New Ulm, Minn.; and a brother, Craig Montag, Augusta.

He is preceded in death by a sister and his parents.
