Maureen Ritter

Withee - Services for Mrs. Merlyn (Maureen) "Tennessee" Ritter, 63, Withee, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, Wis. Mrs. Ritter died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital Hospice Care Unit, Marshfield.

The Rev. Paul Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Pallbearers will be Barry Fetting, Norman Anderson, Robert Whittemore, Dave Brecht, Jeff Drage, and Robert Austin.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The former Maureen Huffstatler was born June 8, 1922, in Mississippi, a daughter of Walter and Elizabeth Huffstatler.

She was married to Merlyn Ritter in July 1957. She was employed at the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen before moving to Kenosha, where she worked at American Motors Co. She moved back to Withee in 1971. She and her husband operated their own concession stands with the Tri State Shows until 1983. Her husband survives.

She was a member of the Owen-Withee VFW Auxiliary Post No. 907.

Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Everett (Betty ) Lindgren, Withee and Martha Thomas, Memphis, Tenn.; one son Dennis Wages, Marshfield, one sister, Geraldine, Marshall, Georgia; and six grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and one brother.
