Schutte, John L. Jr. (June 12, 1902 - September 8, 1968)
John L Schutte, Jr., age 66, of 109 Talcott Ave., Fort Atkinson, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 1968, in Memorial Hospital here, where he had been a patient for three days. He had been in failing health for two years.
Born June 12, 1902, in Pine Valley, Clark County, to John Sr. and Dorothea (Boll) Schutte, he was married to Ruth Marie Ayers of Neillsville on December 19, 1923, in Chicago. He had been a resident of Fort Atkinson for 17 years, moving here from Sauk City.
Mr. Schutte was a bridge builder and a carpenter and for the past several years was a self-employed carpenter in the Fort Atkinson area. He retired in 1962. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson.
Survivors include his wife: one son, Fred, Fort Atkinson; three daughters, Mrs. George (Marion) Beirow, Fort Atkinson, Mrs. Obert (Ann) Furan, Edgerton, and Mrs. Robert (Jean) Durst, Milwaukee; 14 grand-children; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Martin, Milwaukee, Alvin and Henry, Neillsville, and Robert, Neenah, and two sisters, Mrs. Doris Christianson, Baraboo, and Mrs. Senta Christman, Neillsville, Wis. Two sons preceded him in death, one died while serving with the Armed Forces in the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Dunlap Memorial Home, with the Rev. Nordeen officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
