Meyers, Mayme (31 AUG 1915)

A pretty wedding took place at the Green Grove Lutheran Church Tuesday, Aug. 31st, 1915, at 2:30 p.m. when Rev. Aug. Behrendt, in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives, spoke the sacred words which bound together in holy wedlock, Mayme, the fourth youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyers, to Richard Sampe. The bride was attired in white satin charmouse, bridal veil and flowers. She carried a bouquet of white sweet peas and lilies of the valley. She was attended by her twin sister Stella, who wore pale pink silk crepe decline dress and carried sweet peas. The groom was attended by Mr. John Salter of Colby.

The ceremony was followed by a reception at the bride’s home, the guests partaking of a bountiful supper, which was followed by dancing in the hall, after music by the Rag Time orchestra, until the early morning hours.

The dining room was tastefully decorated in gold and white, the cake being gold and white, also the table decorations.

The profusion of flowers and wedding bells helped decorate beautifully.

The groom is a highly respected cheesemaker of Osceola, being born in Manitowoc. The bride was born and reared in this community (Green Grove, Clark Co., Wis.) and count acquaintances as friends. They will reside at Osceola.
