Gemmeke, Iola (28 OCT 1936)

Miss Iola Gemmeke, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Gemmeke of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) and Emory Starks, son of Mrs. Sadie Starks of Stanley, were united in marriage at 10:30 o’clock, Wednesday morning, Oct. 28, 1936, at the Methodist Parsonage, Rev. C.R. Gaylord officiating.

The bride wore a rust colored tunic dress with black accessories. Her bridesmaid, Miss Evelyn Starks, sister of the groom, wore a black dress with black accessories. Both wore corsage bouquets of chrysanthemums. Hugh Glendinning acted as best man. Both the groom and best man wore navy blue suits.

After the ceremony dinner was served to the bridal party and the immediate family, at the bride’s home.

The bride is a graduate of the local high school with the class of 1930 and for the past four years has taught in the rural schools of the county.

They will reside on a farm east of Stanley, Wis., where they will be at home following a short wedding trip to Wisconsin Dells and other points of interest.

The Gleaner joins their many friends in extending best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
