Hereid, Maude Belle (October 13, 1883 - May 30, 1979)

Maude Belle Hereid, age 95, formerly of Alma Center, died May 30, 1979 at the Black River Falls Memorial Hospital. She lived in the Family Heritage Home in Black River Falls for the past two years.

She was born October 13, 1883 at Sylvan, Richland County, Wis. to Raymond and Carolyn Jane (Hayden) Payne. She married Peter Hereid at Gays Mills October 30, 1907. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Squires of Merrillan; Mrs. Dessa Short of Neillsville and Mrs. Leah Braaton of Kokomo, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held June 1 from the Alma Center Methodist Church with the Rev. Calvin Carey officiating. Burial was in the East Lawn Cemetery at Alma Center. The Jensen Funeral Home in Hixton was in charge of arrangements.
