Seelow, Donna Marie Ethel (22 Nov. 1932 - 29 April 1938)

Donna Marie Ethel, the five-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Seelow of the town of York, died Friday evening, April 29, from burns suffered in the morning at the parental home. The little girl was fatally burned when a match, lit by her younger sister, Janet, 3, set her clothing on fire. Although the mother quickly extinguished the flames with a quilt when warned by the screams of the two youngsters, the child died ten hours later at the Granton Clinic. Mrs. Seelow suffered severe burns on her right hand and a finger on the left hand in her efforts.

Donna Marie remained conscious until the last, and apparently suffered little pain from the burns which covered almost her entire body. She was born Nov. 22, 1932. Surviving, besides her parents, are three brothers, and five sisters, Kenneth, Russell, Frederick, Lila, June, Berdella, Cleona and Janet Carol.

The funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the Lowe Funeral Home in Neillsville and at 2 p.m. at the Zion Ev. and Reformed Church, the Rev. Wilson Bixler officiating. Burial took place in the Pine Valley Cemetery.
