Reinart, Velda May (November 28, 1927 - March 7, 2006)

Velda Reinart, age 78, of Neillsville, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at the Lighthouse Elder Care Facility in Marshfield.

Velda May Reinart was born on November 28, 1927 the daughter of Herman and Anna (Seelow) Dahnart in the old hospital in Neillsville, Wis. She attended school and graduated from Neillsville High School. She then worked at the Neillsville Bank for five years. During that time she married John Reinart on August 17, 1948 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville, Wis. Velda worked at the bank until the birth of her first child. She took much joy in raising her family and working on the farm with John. During the late 60s she sold life insurance for a few years with John. She enjoyed dancing and bird watching and she loved watching her grandchildren. Velda and John spent much time fishing, camping and traveling. Velda will be remembered as a gentle, caring, quiet person. She was a lifetime member of the Washburn Homemakers and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville, Wis. John passed away on October 16, 2001.

She is survived by one daughter; Judy (Kent) Lonning, of Neillsville; three sons; Wayne Reinart, of Slinger; Dale (Beverly) Reinart; and Lee (Jill) Reinart, both of Neillsville, Wis. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Clark, Holly (fiancée, Mike Rudnick) and Yvon Lonning, Jonathon, Rhonda, Kelly (Rachel), Richard, Jenny, Rollin, Randall and Shawn and Tanya Reinart and Melissa (Wayne) Jakobi, Brianna, Blake and Elizabeth. She is further survived by one sister, Elaine Feuerhelm, of Hokah, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Ione Syth; and her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Velda was held Saturday, March 11, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville, Wis. The Very Reverend Woodrow H. Pace officiated. Music was provided by Ronald Resong, organist, St. Mary’s Choir and Rita Kuchenbecker, soloist. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Neillsville, Wis.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville assisted Velda’s family with arrangements.
