Zabukovec, Mae (Marriage - 23 July 1938)

At an impressive ceremony Miss Mae Zabukovec of Aurora, Minn., became the bride of Ludwig Perushek, Jr., of Willard, Wis., July 23rd, at a 9 a.m. nuptial mass at the Holy Family Church in Aurora, Minn., the Rev. Fr. Winkleman, O. S. B., officiating. The church was decorated with fresh flowers. The organ played the wedding march and the choir sang hymns during the Mass.

The bride looked lovely in a white lace dress over satin with a long train, finger tip veil trimmed with accessories to match, Pauline Perushek of Willard, sister of the groom. She wore a pink embroidered net dress with a picture hat to match and carried a bouquet white sweet peas and pink roses.

The groom was attended by Anton Zabukovec, brother of the bride from Aurora. A wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s parents to 30 guests.

Out-of-town guest were the groom’s father, L. Perushek, brother, Frank, and sister; Pauline, of Willard; Miss Ida Haakensen, Miss Marian Todd and Wesley Hudtas of Duluth. A reception was held in the evening in the National hall in Aurora.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bartol of Aurora and for the past several years had been employed in Duluth. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Perushek of Tioga, where he is well known. They have rented a farm at Bayfield where they will make their home. Congratulations and best wishes are extended to the young couple.
