Wright, Emma (13 Feb. 1948 - 14 Aug. 1938)

Emma Fuller was born to Elsie and Dewitt Fuller February 13, 1848, in Washington County, New York, and passed away Sunday, August 14, 1938, at 1 p.m. at her home in the town of Dewhurst, after an illness of about eight weeks, following a stroke of paralysis. She had attained the age of 90 years and seven months.

Deceased was married to Horace V. Wright at Glen Falls, N. Y., on Christmas day in 1865. To this union were born six children, three of whom survive: Mrs. Louis Goock, Janesville; Mrs. John Apfel, Neillsville, and Glen Wright at home. There are ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

For 25 years Mrs. Wright had been a resident of Clark County and gained the respect of her neighbors and friends. She lived on a little farm near Columbia with her son, who have her every care and kindly attention during her declining years.

The funeral was held this Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Lowe’s Funeral home, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating, burial taking place at Bethel Cemetery, town of Center, Rock County, eight miles west of Janesville on Thursday, the body having been taken to the home of Mrs. Goock for the funeral services.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Wright, Civil War widow, were held Wednesday, August 17, 1938 at Lowe’s Funeral home, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating and the body was then taken to the home of her daughter near Footville, where services were held and the remains laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery eight miles west of Janesville on Thursday.

Mrs. Wright had attained the age of 90 years, 5 months, 3 weeks and 2 days, and passed away at her home 12 miles southwest of Neillsville, town of Dewhurst, on Sunday, August 14, 1938, at 1:00 o’clock p.m., having been a resident of Clark County for 44 years.

She was born Feb. 22, 1848 in the town of Queensbury, Warren County, New York, a daughter of D. C. and Elsie Fuller.

She is survived by two daughters and one son. Mrs. Louesa Gooch, from near Footville, Wis.; Mrs. John Apfel of Neillsville, Glenn H. Wright, Route 2, Neillville.

Those who preceded her in death are Horace V. Wright, the husband, who passed away at his home southwest of Neillsville, the town of Dewhurst, Dec. 17, 1902. One daughter, Elsie, who died near Footville, Rock County, Wis., April 26, 1882. Two sons, Fred H. Wright, who died Jan. 26, 1929 at El Paso, Texas and Alfred Wright died Dec. 27, 1932 at Fond du Lac, Wis. There are 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
