Firnstahl, Paul P. (25 Dec 1928 - 13 Sep 2006)

Paul P. Firnstahl, 77, Colby, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, under the care of Ministry Home Health Care.

Paul was born Dec. 25, 1928, in Colby to Isadore "Izy" and Lillian (Lystad) Firnstahl. He graduated from Colby, Wis. High School. Paul and Loraine Teclaw were married July 18, 1953, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. She died Dec. 4, 2001.

Paul worked in the banking business in St. Paul, Minn., before moving back to Colby. He worked at Packaging Corporation of America in both Colby and Wausau for more than 30 years. Paul was instrumental in developing the Colby Industrial Park. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, and served on various parish councils. He also was active in the Colby Chamber of Commerce and was a 4-H leader. Paul enjoyed his cabin at South Harper, woodworking and yard work.

Paul is survived by his daughters, Diane (Michael) Lotter of Wausau and Cindy (Leroy) Fricke of Colby; his grandchildren, Dallas Krebsbach, Brooke (Leon) Fricke Downing, Rachel (Ben Friedhof) Fricke and Crystal (Craig) Fricke Sipel; and one sister, Virginia (Angus) Lamont of Colby.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Loraine; and two brothers, Norman "Bud" Firnstahl and Jerry Firnstahl.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Monsignor John Malik will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from noon Monday until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Ministry Home Health Care.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home, Colby, is assisting the family.
