Mrs. W. T. Austin and children spent Sunday with friends at Fall Creek.

Miss Josephine Barton spent the weekend at the home of her parents at Christie.

Mrs. George Haeuser and family visited at the Myrle Hales home at Neillsville Sunday.

Mrs. Chas. Ludwig entertained the members of the Interse Club at her home last evening.

Donald Stabnow, Albert Neuenfeldt, Paulie and Harold Borham spent Sunday with Kenneth Borham at Wausau.

Mrs. Fred Behrens and sons were Neillsville visitors Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Carter spent Sunday with friends at Augusta.

Walter Hubble returned last Tuesday from a visit at Plymouth.

Mary and Frank Briski spent Sunday at the Jack Gasparach home.

Mr. and mrs. Ed Michels and children spent Sunday with relatives at Badersville.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thorson attended the funeral of Tobias Thorson at Withee last Wednesday.

Art and Lydia Awe and Mrs. Ruth Wilsey were La Crosse visitors Sunday.

Harold Booth and son of Glenwood City visited Monday at the A. J. Allard home.

Mrs. Ray Knutson returned Saturday from a 10 days visit with friends at Chicago.

Mrs. Frank Hatton visited at Neillsville last Friday.

Donnie Decker visited his grandfather, Mr. Kepke, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Shaw and daughter of Marshfield spent the weekend at the A. C. Barr home.

A number of members of the R. N. A. Lodge are attending the convention at Neillsville today.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Corey and son, Gary, and Mrs. Charles Perkins, and Mrs. C. A. Corey left Saturday for a visit at Sioux City, Iowa.

Mr. Novak and son, Edw. Of La Crosse spent the weekend with their son and brother, John, athletic teacher of the local high school.

Mrs. Emma Neuenfeldt of Marshfield and Miss Anna Neuenfeldt of Chicago spent from Thursday until Sunday at the Wm. Neuenfeldt home.

Mrs. Myron Kenyon and Mrs. P. W. Gullord entertained the members of the bridge club at a 1 o'clock luncheon last Thursday, followed by bridge at the Gullord home.

Mr. and Mrs. Gardner left last week for Loyal where they will make their home for the winter with their daughter, Mrs. Fred Heiking and family.

Mrs. Walter Trimberger and two sons, Wayne and Eugen, of Granton Visited at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Odin Wang and family Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Lucas and son, Leland, of Phillips and Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Tyrrell and baby of Jim Falls spent Saturday and Sunday at the H. M. Pratt home.

Mrs. M. E. Kenyon and daughter, Betty, left Sunday for Milwaukee. Mrs. Kenyon is the delegate of the local O. E. S. to the Grand Chapter which is held there this week.

Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Barr, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Brauneis and children, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Shaw spent Sunday at the Charles Barr home at Neillsville, Wis.

The annual meeting of the Warner Mutual Town Fire Insurance Co. will be held at the Greenwood Opera House, Tuesday, Oct. 9, 1934, at 2 o'clock p.m.

Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Neuenfeldt and sons, James and Gerald, John O'Connell and daughter, Irene, and Miss Rosetta Hillier spent Sunday at the Mrs. Emma Neuenfeldt home in Marshfield.

Mrs. Walter Hubble returned home from a visit at Milwaukee and other points in the southern part of the state. She was accompanied home by Miss Wood of Waupun. Miss Wood taught at one time in the local high school.

Miss Myra Preller and Miss Gertrude Olson of New York City arrived last Thursday and will spend several weeks with the former's parents. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Preller. They plan to attend the World's Fair on their way back.

Work on the new Greenwood Municipal Building was started Wednesday, H. J. Kleineschay, Fond du Lac, is supervising the work. The building will be 30x60 and will house the council room, rest room, jail and fire department. This is a F. E. R. A. project.

George Althoff, 13-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Althoff, who resides 1/2 mile north of this city, accidentally cut his middle finger on his right hand last Friday while he was trying to fix a window at the Catholic school.

Irvin Bladl, Granton, who is employed at the Wm. Geisler home in Braun Settlement cut his left foot with an axle (axe?) last Friday morning. He was brought to the Greenwood clinic where four stitches were taken to close the wound. He suffered greatly from loss of blood.

The following prizes were awarded at the R.N.A. card party at Allards hall Monday evening: 500 -- Mrs. Ed Hinker, Mrs. Jos. Schmitz, Mrs. W. C. Steiger; Bridge -- Mrs. L. Cox, Mrs. Palmer Vinger, Mrs. G. I. Mullendore; Schafskopf -- Henry Stabnow, Mrs. A. H. Noetzel, Mrs. Irvine Gates; Skat -- Marcellus Hinker, John Lindner, Hugo Haglund. The door prize was won by Mrs. Edgar Opdyke. The last of the series will be held next Monday eve.

Mrs. Palmer Vinger left today for Chicago where she will attend the World's Fair.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hogue and Mrs. Mathilda Fahey visited at the Jack Fahey home at Stanley Monday Evening.

Farmers in 16 Wisconsin Counties have received corn-dog benefit payments through August first, totaling nearly $540,000.
