Johnson, Jessie Belle (3 July 1878 - 8 April 1939)

Mrs. Frank B. Johnson passed away April 8 at 4 a.m. at her home at 138 East Division Street, at the age of 60 years, nine months and five days, after an illness of eight months with heart trouble.

Jessie Belle Chase was born July 3, 1878, at Berlin, Wis., to Daniel and Abbie Chase. On Christmas day in the year 1900, she was united in marriage to Frank B. Johnson of Saxville, Wis. For the past 20 years Mr. and Mrs. Johnson have made their home in Clark County. Three years after coming here Mr. and Mrs. Johnson lost their only child, a son, Franklin, who met with an accident and passed away July 22, 1922.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Congregational Church of Neillsville, the Woman’s Relief Corps and Golden Link Camp No. 78, Royal Neighbors of America. She worked faithfully in each of these organizations as long as her health permitted.

Deceased is survived by her husband, one brother, Frank P. Chase, Pine River, Wis.; and two sisters, Agnes, Mrs. Charles Stafford, Waupaca, and Hattie, Mrs. Charles Johnson, Neillsville, Wis.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, from the home at 1:30 and at the Congregational Church at 2, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating. Interment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were R. M. Horswill, Irving Feirn, Thomas Winters, Joseph Zilk, Albert Jahr and Burton Wells.

Out-of-town relatives and friends in attendance at the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. Chase, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Chase, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bartleson, James Johnson and son, Nels, Mrs. Homer Chase, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Chase, all of Pine River, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Taplin, Wautoma, Wis.; Mrs. Ward Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller, Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. Chas. Stafford, John Eastman, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eastman, Mrs. Floyd Gotham, Waupaca; Mr. and Mrs. Dr. B. F. Johnson and wife, Mondovi, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dunbar, Prescott, Wis.; Ed. Johnson and Oscar Swanson, Hawkins, Wis.; Miss E. G. MacKinlay and George MacKinlay of Marshfield.
