State Land Sale

On next Tuesday morning February 22nd State Treasurer, John J. Kempf will be at Wausau where he will offer for sale at public auction 56 pieces of property in this county, aggregating 2252 acres of an appraised valuation of $8100.

This property is a part of the enormous amount of holdings of the State in various counties, and while that in Marathon County does not represent but a small portion of it, still the records show that it is not amongst the poorest in quality of the State’s land. There is not very much timber on any of the property but there are a few pieces that would make good meadow land and some of it could be used for other agricultural purposes.

Mr. Kempf has already visited a number of counties in the state and before he will have finished his gigantic auction sale will have traveled practically all over the State of Wisconsin and thousands of miles. He has found the lands ar desired by a goodly number of people and the sales thus far have fully kept up to his expectations.

He will be in Wausau next Tuesday and Wednesday and will be glad if those who are interested in the public lands will call on him. Those who are familiar with the character and location of this public property in Marathon County may be able to a choice bargain.
