Juzwiak, Walter Anton, Jr. (May 23, 1932 - August 27, 2005)

Walter A. Juzwiak, Jr., age 73, of Thorp, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Marshfield, on Saturday, August 27, 2005.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. Father Keith Apfelbeck officiated and burial followed in New St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Monday, August 29, 2005 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a combined parish and Knights of Columbus Rosary service at 7:00 p.m.

Walter Anton Juzwiak, Jr. was born on May 23, 1932 on the home farm, in the Town of Thorp, to Walter, Sr. and Florence (Piwoni) Juzwiak. He was raised on the family farm and educated in the Thorp area, graduating from Thorp High School in 1950. After graduation, Wally stayed and worked on the home farm. He was united in marriage to Marlene Szymanski on September 3, 1966 at St. Hedwig’s Chapel in Thorp. They farmed on his family farm until 1990, at which time they sold the farm and moved to Thorp. Wally went to work, part-time at Courtesy Auto and Truck Center, in Thorp, until the time of his death. He was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Queen of Peace Council $4634. Wally had many interests, including polka dancing, flowers, especially his roses, cooking and baking.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Marlene of Thorp; one son Jeffrey of Thorp; one daughter Kathleen (Schott) Mueller of Colfax; two step-grandchildren: Azia and Chaz; one brother Frank Juzwiak of Arlington Heights, IL; one sister Helen Panek of Schaumberg, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Edmund, Malen, and Raymond; and three sisters: Mary Ann in infancy, Lotty Wojtkiewicz and Violet Steer.
