Quinlan, Emma (Marriage - 10 June 1939)

Miss Emma Quinlan, daughter of Mrs. Clara Winkes of 163 North Grand Avenue, Neillsville, and Arlie L. Fritz, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Fritz of Shawaho, Wis., were united in marriage at 8:30 a.m. June 10, 1939, at Farmington, Wis., Father Michael A. Prock, pastor of the church of the Assumption, a cousin of the bride, performing the rites. The double-ring ceremony was used. The church was prettily decorated with pink and white peonies and syringe.

The bride wore a gown of dusty rose chiffon and a corsage of white rose buds and lilies of the valley. Her twin sister, Miss Mida Quinlan, as maid of honor, wore a blue and white chiffon gown and the mother of the groom wore blue triple sheer.

The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Osceola Hotel, Osceola, Wis., the peony and syringe scheme also being carried out here.

The couple left for northern Minnesota and Canada on a ten-day wedding trip. The bride wore a beige coat with accessories for her going-away outfit.

The charming bride, with her equally lovely twin sister always at her side until work separated them after college, was born in Neillsville and lived here most of her life. She was graduated from Neillsville High School and has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin. She is employed in social service in Clark and St. Croix Counties.

The groom is a graduate of the Shawano High School and teacher’s college.

Out-of-town guests at the wedding were: Mrs. August Fritz, and Miss Florence Fritz, Shawano; Mrs. F. W. Switzenberg, Barron; S. A. Janisch, Miss Lucille Larson, Miss Geraldine Hancock, Avonda Tursky, Hudson, Wis.
