Maude Almeda Brown of Neillsville, Wis., passed away June 27, at the Marshfield hospital following a major operation on June 13, the direct cause of her death being embolism.

Mrs. Brown was born January 25, 1890, at Benton, Wis., daughter of John and Hannah Raine. At the age of 15 years she moved with her parents to Clark County where she has since made her home.

April 9, 1913, she was married to Herbert Counsell who preceded her in death eleven years ago. To this union two children were born, Illa, at home, and Fae, who died at the age of four years; October 21, 1931, she was married to Ernest Brown.

Besides her husband and daughter, she is survived by her widowed mother, one sister, (Ruby), Mrs. Shedden of Manawa, Wis., and two brothers, Everett and Clyde. One brother, Fred, and a sister (Ella), Mrs. Harold Huckstead preceded her in death.

Mrs. Brown leaves a host of friends in this locality and also in her earlier home in LaFayette County. In her home, among her friends and as an assistant to her husband, she was ever ready to do her part.

The funeral is to be held Friday at 1:15 p.m. at the home and at 2:00 at the Methodist Church, Rev. E. P. Stone officiating.
