Aebly, Henry (Feb 16,1856 - March 19,1930)

Henry Aebly was born in Canton Glarus, Switzerland Feb 16,1856 and passed away at the home of his daughter in the town of Cleveland March 19,1930 attaining the age of 74 years, 1 month and 3 days.

He grew to manhood in his native vicinity and in the year 1881 he was married to Miss Rachel Hosley. They came to America soon after, locating at New Glarus for four years, then moving to Monroe, which was their home until Mrs. Aebly was summoned to her Eternal Home on April 26,1929, since which time the aged husband made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Robert Linder, west of this village.

Mr. and Mrs. Aebly were the parents of three children, one of whom died in infancy. One son, Henry and one daughter, Mrs. Linder and ten grandchildren survive him.

The funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at the Free Methodist church, Rev. A. E. Knaak officiating. A large congregation assembled to pay their tribute of respect to the memory of the deceased neighbor. Many beautiful flowers covered the casket, bearing a message of sympathy to those who mourn the death of a loving father and grandfather. Burial was in Mentor Cemetery.

Card of Thanks

We wish to express our sincere thanks to the kind friends who helped us at the time of our sorrow, caused by the death of our father and grandfather. We expecially wish to thank Rev. Knaak for his comforting words, the choir, the pallbearers, those who sent the beautiful flowers and also those who furnished cars; we thank you one and all –

Mrs. Robert Linder and Family
