Wagner, Gina Helena (6 May 1892 - 11 Oct. 1939)

Mrs. Robert Wagner passed away at her home at 213 South Grand Avenue, Neillsville, at 4:30 a.m. October 11, 1939, after an illness of about a year.

Gina Helena Olson was born to Ole and Helga Olson at Gilman, Taylor County, Wisconsin, May 6, 1892. She came to Clark County 27 years ago. On December 22, 1917, she was married to Robert Wagner at Waco, Texas, Mr. Wagner being enlisted at that time in the U. S. Army, serving in the World War. She returned to Neillsville, and after her husband’s discharge they began housekeeping here. Mrs. Wagner was a skillful home-maker and never neglected the duties of her own fireside, even though she took an active part in the civic and social affairs of her community, being a member of Carmi Chapter, O. E. S., and Rebekah lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary. "Jennie" could be depended upon to do her part wherever her services were required. She was equally efficient in home of friends and neighbors where illness or other trouble befell, and delighted in befriending old people and children.

She is survived by her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Olson of Gilman, and the following brothers and sisters: Herbert of Tionesta, Pa.; Louis, Leon and Robert of Gilman; Arthur, Milwaukee; Mrs. John Palmer, Milwaukee; Mrs. Matt Miller, Cleveland, N. Dak.; and Mrs. Arthur Studley of Colfax, Wis. A brother Oscar was killed in the World War.

Funeral services were held here Sunday, October 15, 1939, at 1:30 p.m. at the home and at 2 o’clock at the Masonic Temple, the Eastern Star Chapter and the Rev. G. W. Longenecker conducting the services. Interment took place in the Neillsville Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Mack Fradette, D. A. Peterson, Herbert L. Brown, Charles Poole, Everett Wildish and Herbert Smith.
