Dux, Bert Fred (17 March 1894 - 2 Nov. 1939)
Bert Fred Dux, son of Mrs. Anna Dux of Neillsville, passed away at the Veterans’ Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota; Thursday, November 2, 1939.
Mr. Dux was born at Neillsville, March 17, 1894, oldest child of William C. Dux and Anna Dux. He grew to manhood and attended school here. He served with distinction during the World War with Company A, 128th Infantry.
Following his return from the war he took up residence in North Dakota where he remained until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Lena, three children; Leon, 11; Marvin 4, and Arthur Bert, age 5 months; his mother, Mrs. Anna Dux and six brothers and sisters: William C. Jr., and Arthur of Neillsville, Alfred, Owen; Martha Brown, Neillsville; Elsie Wells, Greenwood and Agnes Riplinger, Baraboo. He was preceded in death by his father, William C. Dux, Sr., who passed away in 1906.
Interment will be made at Hillsboro, North Dakota following a military funeral.
Mrs. Anna Dux, Mrs. Milo Brown, William and Arthur Dux, all of Neillsville; Mrs. Orley Riplinger, Baraboo, and Alfred Dux, Owen, left Friday morning to attend the rites.
Bert was living in Eldorado, Traill County, North Dakota in 1930; living with his in-laws; Henry & Bertha Mergenthal. Bert’s wife name is also listed as Leona.
