Liebzeit, Gertrude (10 JUN 1939)

Baskets of mixed peonies decorated the West Side Reformed Church at Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) for the marriage of Miss Gertrude Liebzeit, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Liebzeit, Greenwood, and Elmer Learman, Greenwood, which was performed by the Rev. Paul Franzmeier on June 10, 1939, at 2:30 p.m.

White mousseline de sole, trimmed with tiny covered buttons, and designed with a lace yoke and sleeves of lace from the elbow to the wrist, was worn by the bride. Her fingertip veil, with lace inserts to match those in her dress, was held in place by a coronet style headdress of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of talisman roses.

Mrs. Alvin Ziegler, Chicago, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Carl Learman, new London, attended the bride, wearing frocks of aqua silk marquisette and yellow lace trimmed in green, respectively, with face veils secured by crowns of flowers. They carried bouquets of mixed flowers.

Carl Learman, brother of the bridegroom, and Alvin Ziegler attended Mr. Learman.

As the bridal party approached the altar, Mrs. P.H. Franzmeier played the "Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin, and the church choir, which sang "Be Not Dismayed."

After the ceremony, 125 guests were entertained at a wedding supper and reception at the home of the bride’s parents. The residence was decorated with baskets of peonies and a white wedding bell. A large wedding cake centered the supper table.

Our of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Everett Johnson and son, Douglas, Clintonville; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Learman, and Richard Learman, New London; Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Hanke, Neenah; Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Learman and Miss Celia Radcliffe, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Arno Learman, Menasha; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Liebzeit, Maben, Miss.; Cecelia Nenahlo and Alexander Pozlombka, Neillsville; Mrs. William O. Pieper and Mr. and Mrs. Imig and son, Harold Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Ziegler and son, Gary, and Mrs. William Cook and son, William Jr., Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Liebzeit and son, John, and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Liebzeit, Hilbert; Mrs. Robert Hammerschmidt, Kiel; and Mr. and Mrs. Draheim, Withee.
