Drummond, John & Ida (Gold - 8 JAN 1940)

Mr. and Mrs. John Drummond, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), celebrated their golden wedding anniversary quietly at their home on Jan. 8, 1940. Mr. Drummond was born June 29, 1865 in Necedah and Mrs. Drummond, nee Ida Williams, was also born in Necedah, on Mar. 17, 1862. On Jan. 8, 1890 they were married in that city.

After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Drummond lived in Necedah, where Mr. Drummond operated a store. After moving to Greenwood 40 years ago Mr. Drummond was affiliated with the Big Store for 27 years and later owned the present A.J. Allard Store for three years. He retired 15 years ago.

He was a member of the Greenwood School Board, and a member of the City Council as alderman, and at present is affiliated with the Woodmen, Eastern Star, and Masonic Lodges. Mrs. Drummond belongs to the Eastern Star.

They have one son, Emil, in Minneapolis, and one daughter, Mrs. John Wuethrich (Vera) of Greenwood. John D. Wuethrich, Allan Wuethrich, Greenwood, and Robert and Patricia Drummond of Minneapolis are their grandchildren. John DeVere Wuethrich, who attends school in Baltimore, Md., is a great-grandchild.

Out of town guests who visited with the Drummonds were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E.P. Drummond, Minneapolis; Mrs. Drummond’s sister and brother, Miss Allie Williams and L.G. Williams, Chicago.

Friends from Greenwood also called at the Drummond home. The couple received many cards, flowers and other gifts.
