Diercks, Vera E. (15 APR 1942)

When Miss Vera E. Diercks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Diercks, Town of York (Clark Co., Wis.) became the bride of Leonard E. Drescher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Drescher, Town of Pine Valley (Clark Co.), Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, she was attired in powder blue satin and wore a veil of bridal illusion and lace which fell to the floor. Her flowers were pink and white carnations fashioned into a shower bouquet, and a gold locket, a gift from the groom, was around her neck.

The ceremony was performed in the parsonage of the Trinity Lutheran Church at Greenwood, with the Rev. George Heilman officiating, and was followed by a supper for 90 guests at the home of th bride’s parents, which was decorated for the occasion with white wedding bells and festoons of colored streamers.

Miss Marie Diercks, Neillsville, sister of the bride, and her only attendant, wore a floor-length pink gown and shoulder veil. Her only jewelry was a pearl necklace, a gift of the bride. Herbert Hinkelmann, Loyal, served as best man.

Mr. and Mrs. Drescher will reside on the Diercks’ farm near Neillsville, where the groom is engaged in farming.
