Koch, John V. (June 19, 1949 - November 18, 2006)

John V. Koch, age 57, of 1540 Oneida Dr., Plover, died at his home November 18, 2006.

A time for sharing memories was held Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Boston Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8 p.m.

John was born on June 19, 1949 in Oshkosh, WI to the late Victor and Emma (Stoddart) Koch. He grew up in Oshkosh, attended the local schools and graduated from high school there.

Soon after high school, John became employed at Mercy Medical Center as a surgical technician. He worked there for 6 years until relocating to Boulder, CO in 1975, where he worked for Boulder Community Hospital. While living in Colorado, John had the opportunity to train and work for Mountain Rescue. In 1979, John moved to Stevens Point, WI where he worked as an EMT at St. Michaels Hospital in the ER and GI departments. He retired from there in 2005.

John married Barbara Stuesser on May 18, 1974 in Oshkosh, WI.

John loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a sensitive and caring person. He also had a sense of humor that will always be remembered. John liked nature. He enjoyed trap shooting and fishing. He had a fascination with birds and would set out feeders for them. John also liked watching his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers. He was also an avid shopper at Big Lots and in his spare time, he would often doodle.

Survivors include Wife Barb (Stuesser) Koch of Plover; daughter, Jamie (John Dickrell) Koch of Stevens Point; son, Travis Koch of Stevens Point; sisters, Vicki (Tom) Grobe and Debra Koch, both of Oshkosh; brother, James Koch of Oshkosh, and many nieces and nephews.

John, know that your humor, thoughtfulness, and the love you showed your family will be with us forever.
