Kippenhan, Norma (16 JUN 1942)

The bride’s home near Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) was the setting for the wedding of Miss Norma Kippenhan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Kippenhan, and Emery Sieger of Eleva, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sieger, who live near Eau Claire. The Rev. P.H. Franzmeier officiated at the ceremony, which took place Tuesday afternoon, June 16, 1942, at 1:30 in the presence of 60 relatives and friends.

The bridal gown was of white satin, worn with a shoulder-length veil and a pearl crown. The bride carried a bouquet of roses, iris and carnations.

The groom’s sister, Miss Elvira Grorud, who acted as maid of honor, was dressed in blue chiffon and wore a shoulder bouquet of iris and carnations. Mrs. Herbert Kippenhan, bridesmaid, was attired in pink taffeta.

Best man was Paul Kippenhan, the bride’s brother and the groomsman was Emmit Sieger, bother of the groom.

The wedding march was played on the concertina by Elmer Meinhardt. During the service a duet, "Lead Me, Savior," was sung by Mrs. Theodore Kippenhan and Mrs. August Sieger, the mothers of the bride and bridegroom, respectively. They were accompanied at the organ by Miss Esther Kippenhan, Milwaukee, a sister of the bride, who also played the accompaniment when the group sang "Jesus Savior, Pilot Me."

A wedding dinner was served after the ceremony. The rooms were decorated with pink, blue and white streams and a white bell.

The bride, a graduate of Greenwood High School and the State Teachers College at Eau Claire, has been teaching for three years. The groom is a farmer by occupation. Mr. and Mrs. Sieger are now at home to friends at Eleva, route 1.

Guests from away included Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sieger, Eau Claire; Miss Beulah Planert, Altoona; Miss Esther Kippenhan, Milwaukee; Miss Louise Kippenhan, Black River Falls; August Kippenhan,, Mrs. Herbert Wickesburg, and Miss Hilda Kippenhan, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Voightlander and family, Curtiss; Art Arve, Miss Lydia Arve, Mr. and Mrs. William Arve, all of Owen; Emma Burmester, Mr. and Mrs. George Bower and family, Withee; Mrs. Herbert Kippenhan, Mrs. George Hintz and daughter, Katherine, Willard; Emmit Sieger, Eleva; Mr. and Mrs. George Burmester, Mr. and Mrs. Art Kippenhan and family, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Meinhardt, Mr. and Mrs. William Toburen, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Liebzeit, all of Greenwood.
