Schumacher, Edwin Ernest (3 Nov. 1902 - 31 Jan. 1940)

Edwin Schumacher passed away Wednesday morning at the hospital at Mendota. Mr. Schumacker recently underwent an operation at the Wisconsin State Hospital, Madison. He is survived by his wife and three children, living on the Ewald Thiede farm near Granton.

Edwin Ernest Schumacher passed away at the hospital at Mendota, January 31 at 4:10 a.m. at the age of 39 years, two months and 28 days. He had not been well since last November and recently spent a week at the General Hospital at Madison, returning to his home January 24. Three days later it was again necessary to taken him to a hospital.

Mr. Schumacher was born at Fairchild, November 3, 1902, to Bernard and Rossie (Miller) Schumacher. On April 11, 1928, he was married to Adela Karow. Three children were born to them. He worked at various places around Augusta until five year ago when he came to Granton. His last employment was on a farm near Greenwood. Since January 2, the family has lived on a farm in the town of Grant.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, Edith, two sons, Arnold and Robert, Grant; and by his father, Bernard Schumacher, Augusta; two sisters, Mrs. William Young, Granton; Mrs. R. E. Kreinke, Osseo; two brothers, George, Cadiz, Ohio, and Vernon, Fairchild, and many other relatives.

Funeral services were held at Mapleworks Lutheran Church, Granton, Sunday afternoon, Rev. Arthur Laesch officiating. Interment was made at the church Cemetery. Alva Howard, Rollie Dietrich, Leland Schutz, Walter Trimberger, Ed Schlinsog and Arno Guk were pallbearers.
