Hubing, Arsula C. (Marriage - 4 Feb. 1940)

Miss Arsula C. Hubing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hubing of 165 East Second Street, Neillsville, and Marvin W. Westphal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Westphal, 174 West Fifth Street, also of this city, were united in marriage at St. John’s Lutheran church at two p.m. Sunday, February 4, Rev. William A. Baumann conducted the double-ring ceremony, in the presence of immediate friends and relatives. The church decorations consisted of an arch, beautifully decorated in rose, gold and white.

The bride wore a transparent velvet dress with finger-tip veil and carried a bridal bouquet combining sweet peas, for-get-me-knots and baby breath. Miss Ruth Hubing and Miss Lorraine Hubing acted as bridesmaids. Miss Ruth wore a petunia rose gown, and Miss Lorraine, wore a dress of treasurer gold, both young women wearing matching corsages and hair bouquets. The groom was attended by William Westphal and Dale Hake. Harry Roehrborn was ushering. The bride’s mother was dressed in forest brown alpaca crepe, while the mother of the groom wore a grape wine velvet dress.

At 4:30 dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents to 42 guests. The home was attractively decorated with rose, gold and white streamers. A wedding trip is planned for a later date.

The bride was graduated from Neillsville high school in 1938, and until recently she had been employed at the Neillsville bakery, where her efficiency and charming personality made her a valuable employee. Mr. Westphal also completed the course in Neillsville high school in 1938 and since then he has worked steadily for the Omaha Railroad Company and for the Bell Telephone Company. He is a quiet, likable type of gentleman, capable of applying himself to any task he undertakes.

They will be at home at 185 E. Second Street, Neillsville, Wis.
