Korntved, Myrtle (1927? - 17 OCT 1943)

Myrtle Korntved, 16, was instantly killed when she fell through the open door of a milk truck cab as the truck struck a rough spot on a town road 5 ½ miles southwest of here (Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis.) at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

The manner of her death was established by a coroner’s jury at an inquest held in the Greenwood City Hall this morning.

The girl was riding from Greenwood, where she was employed, to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Soren Korntved, 1 ½ miles from the scene of the accident.

Driver of the truck was Clarence Warncke, whose sister, Arlene, occupied the center seat. Miss Korntved was seated next to the right hand door when it was jarred open.

She landed on her knees and was struck by the truck body and thrown under the right rear wheel, which passed over her head. Death was instantaneous.
