Stowe, Dorothy (17 NOV 1945)

Miss Dorothy Stowe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Stowe of Unity, and Al Bushman, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bushman, of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), exchanged wedding vows before the altar of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Greenwood, Nov. 17, 1945, at 9:30 a.m., with the Rev. John Novak officiating.

The bride’s white satin wedding gown was designed with a long full skirt ending in a train and a snug fitting bodice featuring a deep lace yoke. For jewelry she wore a dainty gold cross necklace, a gift of the groom, and her finger tip veil of illusion was caught to strands of seed pearls braided in her hair. She carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums.

Miss Virginia Bushman, a sister of the groom, as maid of honor, wore a similar frock in seafoam blue satin while Mrs. Jerome Delo and Miss Lois Stock, bridesmaid, wore deep rose and moss pink jersey dresses. All three wore gold and pearl earrings, gifts of the bride, and wrist corsages of Talisman roses and pompons.

Donal Bushman was his brother’s best man and Jerome Delo and Ray Anderson were groomsmen. Robert Lindner ushered.

Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served to the bridal party at the home of the groom’s parents and later in the day dinner and supper were served at the Stowe home where throughout the afternoon a reception was held. That evening a wedding dance was given at the Merry Ol’ Gardens with Guy Woodford and his band providing the music for dancing.

The couple is now at home to friends on a farm southeast of Greenwood.
