Thorson, Margaret B. (29 JUN 1946)

Wearing a white wedding gown designed with a duchess satin basque featuring a deep yoke of illusion, and a billowing skirt of net ending in a long court train, Miss Margaret B. Thorson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thorson, 306 S. Maple St., exchanged wedding vows with Donald S. Denk, 716 N. Cedar St., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Denk, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.). The nuptial ceremony was read in the rectory of St. John’s Church Saturday evening at 6:45 o’clock, with the Rev. Joseph Bach officiating.

Attendants were Miss Gloria Thorson, a sister of the bride; John Bast; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Denk, brother and sister-in-law of the groom; Miss Beverly Haeuser and Bernard Denk, another brother of the groom.

Satin flowers were appliquéd on the net overskirt and yoke of the bride’s dress. Her veil of illusion edged with Alencon lace was caught to a tiara of seed pearls and rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of deep red roses and baby breath swathed with filled maline and tied with satin streamers.

All three of the bride’s attendants wore black and white dresses. The maid of honor, Miss Thorson, chose a frock with a black bodice styled with bracelet-length sleeves and a bouffant white net skirt. Both Mrs. Denk and Miss Haeuser wore dresses made with snug fitting black bodices, cap sleeves and frothy white net overskirts.

Their corsages were a combination of roses and Esther Reeds.

Following the ceremony supper was served at the Thorson home canopied with pink and white streamers. A two-tier wedding cake centered the table. That evening a reception and dance were held at the Silver Dome at Neillsville, Wis.

After a week’s honeymoon in northern Wisconsin the couple will reside at 312 N. Central Av.

Mrs. Thorson was graduated from the greenwood High School in 1941 and had been employed at Minneapolis before she came to Marshfield six months ago to accept a position with the Household Finance Co.

The bridegroom attended St. Mary’s School at Greenwood and served in the Army for 38 months, 20 months of which were spent in the European Theater of Operations. He is now employed at Weinbrenner’s Shoe Factory.
