Kuester, Violet M. (20 SEP 1947)

Miss Violet M. Kuester, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norbert A. Kuester, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and Eldore H. Humke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Humke, Greenwood, pledged their marriage vows Saturday afternoon at the West Side Reformed Church, Greenwood. The Rev. J.C. Klingeberger read the double ring service.

The bride’s sister, Miss Gladys C. Kuester, route 2, Greenwood, was maid of honor and the groom’s twin brother, Elmer, was best man. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Liebzeit, route 2, Greenwood, the latter a sister of the groom, and the flower girl, Rebecca Lee Kuester, Thorp, completed the bridal party. Paul Humke, cousin of the groom, and Lawrence Laabs, cousin of the bride, Greenwood, ushered.

The bride wore a white satin gown, fashioned with a net overskirt that ended in a long, lace edged train. Her finger-tip veil of illusion was caught to a pearl orange blossom headdress. She carried a shower bouquet of white gladioli and Joanna Hill roses.

The maid of honor wore a gown of pink marquisette over taffeta and a matching open crown sweetheart bonnet. The bridesmaid was dressed similarly in aqua colored bouquets of white, pink, and aqua roses. The flower girl’s dress was identical to that worn by the bride. She wore a white open crowned sweetheart bonnet and carried a miniature bridal bouquet.

Dinner was served to 275 people at the home of the bride’s parents and approximately 300 people attended the reception.

The bride and groom are graduates of the Greenwood High School. The bride has worked in Milwaukee the past three years.

The couple will make their home at Greenwood, where the groom is engaged in farming.
