Duvall, Arva R. (Marriage - Feb. 1944)

Donald Fischer wed to Arva R. Duval Saturday

Miss Arva R. Duvall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Duvall of Colby, became the bride of Donald A. Fischer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fischer of Unity, at a ceremony read on last Saturday afternoon in the Zion Lutheran church with the Rev. O. J. Hoffmann officiating.

The bride was gowned in a tartan frock with green accessories. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Seefeld and Mr. and Mrs. Cyrell Adler, brothers in law and sisters of the bride and groom.

Mrs. Seefeld was attired in an aqua dress with brown accessories and Mrs. Adler wore a brown frock with matching accessories. All had corsages of sweet peas and rses and the bride wore a heart shaped locket, a gift from the groom of jewely.

The bride’s mother wore a military blue ensemble and the groom’s mother chose a green frock for the occasion. Both wore rose and sweet pea corsages.

Following the ceremony 50 guests were served supper at the home of the bride’s parents decorated with white, brown, and greet streamers and a wedding bell.

The groom attended the Spencer high school and the bride was graduated from the Colby, Wis. High school with the class of 1942. They will reside on the groom’s farm near Unity.

Guest included Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fischer and family, Merton Bennett and Mrs. Ida Molle of Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Neumann and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Seefeld and DuWayne, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Seefeld and Neil, Mr. and Mrs. Seefeld of Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Duvall and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Duvall, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Seefeld and family of Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Orland Scheer and family of Curtiss, and Mr. and Mrs. Cyrell Adler of Dorchester, Wis.
